… too many images, unsorted passages, so many cars… traffic is an endless daydream speed carrying commercialism… radio carries too many advertisements. later on, we’ll listen to vinyl and indulge in digital stereophonic leisure, we’ll drink too much and look at buildings building social realities… over there, look, is there no joy in your architect? is revolution the opium of your intellectuals… their overconfidence means they don’t have to bust butt and consume craft like a drug and to expel expel expel new realities into the stratosphere… only then does the art both look nice and function… its viewer may spend a microsecond looking at its image where an artist labored ardently over its creation, dedicated in a space study for so long. i want to get lost in the single line drawing of another –> we won’t know each other really. us, anonymous forces… like author and reader… i want to read from the most intelligent or illegible minds of our time. i want to know they and their analyses of our contemporary culture. but, do they write essays nowadays or do they just give Ted talks? what gets published will outlive us. the more one creates the more of a legend one becomes? so, make your mark… we live in a world of visual and verbal excess, this is not new news to us! do we accept all junk, do we learn to filter, what is learning then… do we learn to lift the veil and let “bad designs” coerce social fabrics… or do we counter-act? … geography influences dispositions and aesthetics, perhaps we can we draw a map or construct a legend to show ebb, to show geography and visual landscape impacting aesthetic/semantic/pragmatic production work. work or play. let us use the word Play, or vocation ~ i like, work is stigmatized to connotate an almost against-our-will production of artifacts. work spawned from the machinics of our early manufacturing days. work is without passion. though I’m skeptical of Passion as well… vocation is a lovely work… investigation is my design practice, yet i am not designing theories here… conjectures, i watch as they merge and collide and cover… we write books but more lately blog posts and hope to be celebrated. we gather in our respective communities and more recently via the digital. where no one cares which country you’re from as long as your email is a valid address. the production of knowlege is social yet it is incongruous to me how was there so little discourse in my expensive education… post-education is not a definable span in time but shifting through an individuals development when one learns to educate oneself, not with… yet another book on graphic design… but through the socioeconomic and cultural position of one within the machine of our world. and then one can question one’s role in the planetary schema… so… do you choose to accept the challenge and participate, do you choose Work, do you choose an education inside the canonincal stratification or liberatory margins? do you choose to be with work… without work… debate is not the same as dharma to me… is it the same for you? … tell me all about it
